Born and raised in England in 1946, Nicola (Nikki) Henriques is someone who delves, challenges, interrogates and goes against the grain of popular opinion to find the truth. This led her into the world of journalistic research and writing.
Nicola's first contact with homeopathy happened in the early 1980s, while co-writing a book on menopause. The brutality and drug dependent nature of its ordinary medical treatment drove her to explore kinder alternative holistic medical systems.
To find out more, she interviewed several leading complementary medicine practitioners. It was one homeopath's description of how they researched and selected the right medicine and dose for each person's illness that gave Nicola a new purpose in life.
Menopause the Woman's View published, she switched gears, completed four years full time education and training in homeopathic medical practice, including a postgraduate year of clinical experience and homeopathic teacher training certification, and in 1993 was awarded the Licentiate with Honours, from the London College of Classical Homoeopathy. (A Licentiate is a degree between that of bachelor and master or doctor.)
During her homeopathic training Nicola was exposed to the continuous proliferation of prescriber-created divergences, pick, and mix “approaches" all claiming to be homeopathy.
For clarity, patient safety, efficiency, consistency, and technical proficiency in her own homeopathic practice Nicola resolved to always rigorously apply the easily comprehensible fundamental principles of homeopathy established by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann its originator and aspire to achieve the highest standard of clinical excellence he clearly delineates.
Once qualified, Nicola worked in private practice, offered a free homeopathic clinic within the UK National Health Service, and lectured part time at the London College of Classical Homoeopathy and The London School of Classical Homoeopathy.
In 1995 she was invited to take the full-time post of Principal Lecturer at The Institute of Classical Homoeopathy, San Francisco, California, and develop its professional homeopathic education and training course curriculum.
To provide a clear explanation of the homeopathic curative process and address the challenge of consistent effective homeopathic patient response evaluation, Nicola gathered together the case management advice of Hahnemann and the old master practitioners to write her first book on homeopathic medicine Crossroads to Cure. It was published in 1998 and became recommended reading for many professional homeopathic training courses.
In 2000 Nicola testified regarding standards of homeopathic education and training to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
In 2009 Nicola's second book on homeopathic medicine, Release the Vital Force was published, which describes the homeopathic patient examination and medicine selection processes.
In 2005 she resumed private practice and started offering occasional homeopathic medicine continuing education tutorials to those interested in learning Hahnemann's pure homeopathic healing art.
In 2022, responding to reader feedback, an expanded revised edition of Nicola's popular book Crossroads to Cure was published.
To uphold the honour and dignity of homoeopathy Nicola continues to maintain an intelligent fidelity to Hahnemann's unimpeachable teaching and raise public and practitioner awareness of "the pure homeopathic healing art" in the hope that, to meet science’s reasonable demand for consistency in methodology and ease homeopathy's acceptance as a medical system in its own right, the homeopathic profession decides to make Hahnemann's principle-based pure homeopathy their globally recognised normal highest standard of homeopathic clinical excellence, exactly as he always intended.
